10-Year-Old Invents Ocean-Cleaning Ship, Speaks at UN by 14
From washing his hands after soccer practice to speaking at the United Nations, this is the incredible journey of Haaziq Kazi.
At just 10 years old, Haaziq had a world-changing realization while watching water drain from a sink: what if we could pull plastic from the ocean the same way?
That moment sparked the invention of a ship designed to clean millions of tons of plastic from our seas.
By 11, he was giving TED talks in New York. By 14, he addressed the United Nations. Now at 19, he's a sophomore at UC Berkeley, founder of the Aeros Foundation (teaching 2,000+ kids about ocean conservation), and developing AI to predict ocean algae blooms.
In this episode, you'll discover:
- The shocking reality behind 5 million marine deaths from plastic annually
- How a 10-year-old turned frustration into global innovation
- The exact mindset shift that got him from idea to TED stage
- Why his parents' approach to rejection changed everything
- Actionable steps for young innovators to start TODAY (even if you think you're "too young")
